The Floral Heart Project
Monday, March 1
Dedication at 10am Scissortail Park – North Lens Garden
Dedication at 11am Myriad Botanical Gardens – Meinders Terrace

The Floral Heart Project, a COVID-19 memorial effort, will lay floral hearts in cities and towns across the United States in conjunction with a National Day of Mourning effort Monday, March 1. In Oklahoma City, floral hearts will be displayed at Scissortail Park and Myriad Botanical Gardens to honor the more than 4,000 Oklahomans who have died from COVID-19.

Join us to dedicate a wreath at Scissortail Park at 10am, and then at the Myriad Botanical Gardens at 11am on Monday, March 1. The hearts will be on display through Friday, March 5.

Oklahoma City’s floral hearts are designed by Heather Cole with Forever Cole Events and Haleigh Kenney with XO by Haleigh Kenney.

The Floral Heart Project was started by artist Kristina Libby in an effort to help the community create spaces for public grieving and to share support for people suffering during the pandemic.

In Oklahoma City, local florist organizer Heather Cole has sourced the fresh flowers to use in the hearts from Sooner Wholesale.
