OSU-OKC Farmers Market at Scissortail Park

Saturdays from 9am – 1pm

FARMERS MARKET UPDATE

WE ARE OPEN! Saturdays from 9AM – 1PM at the Scissortail Park Stage Plaza near Oklahoma City Boulevard and Robinson Avenue!

These first few market dates will look a little different than our future markets, as we are operating with increased safety precautions and limited market capacity, given COVID-19 emergency declarations set by the City of OKC.

We have been working very closely with the City of Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma Health Department, and the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) to ensure our protocols are as thorough as possible.

Here are few extra tips for how to be a responsible shopper at the market:

  • Make a grocery list.
  • Look but don’t touch; let our market members grab your products for you. They will have a designated space on their tables for product and payment exchange.
  • Bring your own reusable bags but be prepared to bag your own groceries.
  • We will facilitate SNAP/EBT! Look out for a post on the steps to get your tokens and a list of our market members that accept.
  • Bring your dogs! But please keep them away from market members selling raw and prepared food.
  • We don’t have an ATM on site, so please have cash handy; not every one of our vendors have a card reader.

*We will post a market map on social media showing designated entrances & exits, hand washing stations, sanitizing stations, our information tent & Veggie Valet, as well as parking map which includes free parking sites, handicap spaces and modes for public transit!!*

FAQs

There are approximately 170 parking spaces around the perimeter of Scissortail Park. These spaces are free on weekends and after 6pm during the week. In addition, there is street parking to the north and west of the Park.
Additionally, there is an OKC Streetcar stop at the corner of Oklahoma City Boulevard and South Robinson Avenue directly across the street from the market location.

We are working with our volunteers called the Horticulture Heroes to assist at the market. They will be available to assist shoppers with questions as well as help to carry packages to a shopper’s car. In addition, the Park is investigating the possibility of creating a drive-up purchase pick up area on Oklahoma City Boulevard.

The OSU-OKC Farmers Market at Scissortail Park will be open on Saturdays from 9am until 1pm beginning on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Initially, the season will run through October. Park officials are looking at opportunities to extend these operating months by utilizing the Event Pavilion on the southeast corner of the Park. Eventually, the hope is to use space in Union Station for a year-round market.
