Boats Available
ADA Accessible Pedal Boat: Up to 4 passengers
(Maximum total weight is 564 pounds)
Canoe: Up to 3 passengers
(Maximum total weight is 720 pounds)
Single Kayak: Single rider
(Maximum total weight is 300 pounds)
Tandem Kayak: Up to 2 passengers
(Maximum total weight is 400 pounds)
Boat Rules
- All riders must sign a waiver
- All riders age 15 and younger must have a parent or guardian co-sign the waiver
- All riders age 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult
- Life jackets are required for all riders
- Riders must be at least 36″ tall to ride (no lap riders)
- No food and drink allowed in the boats, except water
- No standing up in boats
- Please do not take boats into the upper wetlands area of the lake
- No animals except service animals are allowed in the boats
Lake Rules
- No swimming at any time
- No fishing except during promoted Scissortail Park events
- Do not feed, touch, or disturb any wildlife, including birds and fish
- Life preservers are available at several locations around the lake perimeter
Boat rentals will close when:
- Temperature is under 50 degrees
- Winds are higher than 20 mph
- There is lightning within an 8-mile radius
No lifeguard on duty.

Scissortail Boathouse
The Boathouse is a gathering place for wellness programming, musical performances, private event rentals, and boat attractions. The Boathouse is located next to the Lake and the western end of the bridge.
Boat Operation
The boat attraction consists of individual, free-floating pedal boats, canoes, and kayaks. The pedal boats are paddled with foot pedals similar to a bicycle and guided individually with a tiller. One rider must be able to reach the pedals and pedal the boat sufficiently. The canoe and kayaks utilize hand-held paddles.
All boats are subject to several degrees of motion dependent upon water movement and wind. All riders must wear a properly fitted and secured life vest.
No lifeguard on duty.

Age/Height Restrictions
Guests must be at least 36″ tall to ride. All riders ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a supervising adult companion. Guests cannot have infants, babies or toddlers on their lap while operating the boats.
Individuals ages 15 years and under must have a parent or guardian co-sign the waiver to participate in any boat rentals.
Ride Restrictions
For your safety, you should ride only if you are in good health. Guests who know or suspect that may be pregnant, have high blood pressure, heart conditions, neck or back problems, recent surgery, prone to motion sickness, or any other impairment or medical condition that may be affected by the features of this ride or prevent the normal seating, shall not ride.
Physical Restrictions
Each rider must be able to remain sitting up straight, keeping their head upright, their back and shoulders against the seat back and their hands, arms, legs, and feet down and inside the ride at all times. Guests with a cervical collar, neck brace or broken collarbone will not be permitted to ride. All casts must fit inside the boat. At least one guest in the boat must be able to grip with one functioning hand and brace with one functional leg. All guests must be able to effectively use the personal flotation devices provided at the ride. At least one guest must be able to pedal the boat sufficiently.
Assistance Animals
Service animals are permitted provided the guest and animal fit comfortably and safely inside the boat. Guest must provide a life vest for their service animal to accompany them on the boats.
