BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Volunteers make a difference for staff and visitors alike while developing professional skills and connecting with neighbors and nature.
Community Groups
Engage in team building with your work, school or church group by volunteering for a special event or project in the Park. Your group will receive a variety of benefits depending on the duration of the event or project.
Volunteer Opportunities
Event Volunteers
Public events at Scissortail Park help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging space for families, friends, and individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Event volunteers can serve in a variety of roles and responsibilities during the preparation and execution of an event, such as registration, set-up, crafts, and games. The diverse type and scale of our public events offer a perfect opportunity for both individuals and groups to volunteer for one event or on a regular basis.
Horticulture Heroes
If you enjoy working outside and with your hands, volunteering with the horticulture department could be just the ticket. As a Horticulture Hero volunteer you help maintain the landscaping throughout the Park. There are a variety of things to do, including weeding beds, planting/removing annuals, cleaning up leaves, and creating plant exhibits. Our horticulture crew will welcome your help.
Docent Volunteers
We are also seeking volunteers to become Docent Volunteers throughout the Park. A docent acts as a guide, typically on a voluntary basis, in a museum, art gallery, or zoo. We need volunteers at our Kids Pavilion, our Boathouse at the Scissortail Lake, our gardens, and other locations around the Park to welcome our community guests and share information.
If you have questions or need help please email volunteer@scissortailpark.org.
